The world's largest humor collection is at The House of Humour and Satire (Bulgarian: Дом на Хумора и Сатирата; Dom na Humora i Satirata) in Gabrovo, Bulgaria, is an exposition of traditional local humor art, including cartoons, photographs, paintings, sculptures, and verbal humor. The House includes a museum and an art gallery. The city of Gabrovo is also known as an international capital of humor and satire. Its motto is "The world lasts because it laughs".

The Schmulowitz Collection of Wit & Humor contains more than 22,000 books and 250 periodical titles - as well as electronic media and ephemera - in thirty-seven languages and dialects. Located in the Books Arts & Special Collections Center of the San Francisco Public Library, SCOWAH is one of the most important research collections of its kind, spanning more than four centuries of wit and humor. 

The American Comedy Archives was established to acquire, preserve, and make available primary source material that documents the professional activities of the groundbreaking individuals who have written, produced, or performed comedy for radio, television, motion pictures, or live performance. The collections contain a wealth of primary source material related to American comedy.
